Challenge

A typical eight-bedroom farmhouse with 600mm stone walls. A single ISP router covers the kitchen and little else — bedrooms, the barn office and the yard are effectively offline, and older CCTV cameras keep dropping.

Solution

We'd replace the consumer kit with a UniFi gateway, PoE switch and three outdoor-rated access points positioned for stone construction. Re-cable to 4K cameras with weatherproof housings and cloud recording.

What good looks like

Designed for full-strength WiFi to every room, the courtyard and the barn office, with CCTV streaming reliably to the owner's phone.

Challenge

The farmhouse has fibre but the milking parlour, two barns and an office cabin are effectively offline. Modern herd management software can't run reliably and staff fall back to 4G.

Solution

We'd run wireless point-to-point links from the farmhouse to each outbuilding, with internal access points in every building, and add PoE-powered outdoor cameras across the yard on a single dashboard.

Designed so every building is online with enough headroom for herd software, parlour data and remote security monitoring.

Challenge

End-of-line ADSL gives only a few Mbps on a good day. Smart heating, lighting, security and the doorbell are unreliable, and the family both work from home and run a holiday cottage on the same line.

Solution

Install Starlink discreetly on the barn gable and route it into a wall-mounted rack. Commission a UniFi gateway, switch and three APs. Integrate the smart-home hub so lighting, heating, locks, cameras and doorbell live in one app.

Designed to deliver a high-speed connection across the property, with an isolated guest network for the holiday cottage and a reliable smart-home setup.

Challenge

A stone holiday cottage is losing reviews over patchy WiFi. Guests can't stream, can't work, and sometimes can't even open the booking confirmation.

Solution

A business-grade router, two ceiling APs hidden in the beams, and a separate guest network with bandwidth limits and a daily auto-reset. A simple WiFi card sits in the welcome pack.

Designed to give guests strong, predictable WiFi throughout the cottage and garden, with an isolated network and minimal admin for the owner.

Challenge

A 30-horse yard with no reliable CCTV at night and no staff WiFi in the tack room or arena office. The owner wants to check on horses overnight from a phone.

Solution

Eight low-light outdoor cameras with infrared across stables, arena and gateway. Outdoor access points covering the yard and arena. All on the owner's phone with motion alerts.

What good looks like

Designed so the owner can monitor the yard remotely, staff have a dedicated WiFi network, and night-time activity is easy to review when it matters.

Challenge

A stone barn 60m from the house has been converted into a home office. The ISP router in the kitchen barely reaches the garden — useless 60m away through stone.

Solution

An outdoor wireless point-to-point link between house and barn on discreet pole mounts. An internal AP and PoE switch in the barn office. Cabling concealed behind the stonework.
