We're an independent installer based in Towcester, we use professional kit from the Ubiquiti UniFi and TP-Link Omada ecosystems, and we're happy to keep anything you already have that's worth keeping.

How we install in Oxford

Survey
A site survey at your Oxford property. We walk the site with you and agree what you actually need to see — gates, drives, the yard, stables, machinery stores — and check what your current network can support before recommending anything.

Design
Camera positions planned around real sightlines, how footage is recorded and for how long, and how the signal gets back from far buildings: a proper cable where possible, a point-to-point wireless bridge where it isn't.

Install
Wired PoE cameras — one cable carries both power and data, so there are no camera batteries to change and no plug sockets needed in barns. Tidy cable runs, recorder set up, and the phone app configured for everyone who needs it.

Aftercare
A proper walkthrough of live view and playback before we leave, and support afterwards. If a camera ever drops offline, you call us — not a call centre.

Why we build CCTV network-first

A camera is only as reliable as the connection behind it. That's the whole story of rural CCTV. Battery WiFi cameras look cheap and easy, but point one across a farmyard or hang it on a stone outbuilding and it spends half its life offline — stone and brick walls that predate WiFi by a century or two simply swallow the signal. When the camera you bought for peace of mind is the thing you can't trust, it's worse than no camera at all.

Our default is wired PoE — Power over Ethernet. One cable to each camera carries both power and data, which means no batteries to climb a ladder for, no plug sockets needed in outbuildings, and a connection that doesn't care how thick the walls are. For buildings too far to cable — a barn across the yard, stables down the track — a point-to-point wireless bridge carries the camera feeds building-to-building, and the same link can carry working WiFi into the barn while it's at it.

Footage records locally to a recorder at your property, so recording keeps running even if the internet goes down — which matters on rural connections. When the connection is up, you get live view and playback on your phone from anywhere, and we size the storage to how many days of footage you want to keep. We'll also talk through positioning: pointing cameras at your own gates, drives and yards keeps things simple and respectful of the neighbours.

Local to Oxford and the villages around it

Listed buildings with thick stone walls kill WiFi signal. Many country homes within minutes of the city centre have no fibre option at all. Cameras on the house are the easy bit — most of our CCTV work out here is getting reliable coverage onto yards, barns and stables the house WiFi was never going to reach.

Common questions

Can I watch the cameras on my phone when I'm away from Oxford?

Yes — live view and playback from anywhere, through the app. It does rely on the property having a working internet connection, and if that connection is the weak link, we can fix that as part of the same job.

Will WiFi cameras work through stone walls and outbuildings?

Usually badly — thick stone and brick soak up WiFi signal, which is why battery WiFi cameras on rural buildings spend so much time offline. We default to wired PoE cameras, with point-to-point wireless bridges for buildings too far to cable: a dedicated, reliable link rather than hoping the house WiFi stretches.

Where is the footage stored?

Locally, on a recorder at your property — so recording carries on even if the internet drops out. We size the storage to how many days of footage you want to keep, and you view it remotely through the app whenever the connection is up.

Can you cover the yard and outbuildings, not just the house?

Yes — around Oxford that's most of what we do. Wireless bridges carry camera feeds back from barns, stables and yards, and the same link can bring proper WiFi into those buildings at the same time.
